"Victorian Dublin Revealed" Evening Lecture Series

The Irish Georgian Society and Dublin City Heritage Office are presenting a series of evening lectures celebrating the nineteenth-century architectural heritage of Dublin.  The lecture series, tiled Victorian Dublin Revealed, will examine the commercial, cultural, domestic, ecclesiastical, infrastructural and philanthropic architectural heritage of Dublin and place the buildings in their socio-economic context.

Each lecture will be delivered by an established academic, architect, author or conservationist with a special interest in Dublin's nineteenth-century architectural heritage.  Topics will include "The Dublin Victorian Railway Terminii"; "Decorative Dublin and its Victorian Details"; "Dublin's Victorian Cemeteries" and "Victorian Bank Architecture of Dublin".

The lectures will be held in the City Assembly House, 58 South William Street, Dublin 2, and will begin at 6:30pm on Tuesday 1st October with The Victorian Church in Dublin delivered by Alastair Rowan.
