Three-arch hump back road bridge over river, extant 1838. Part repointed coursed rubble limestone walls centred on submerged triangular cutwaters to piers having pyramidal capping with repointed tooled cut-limestone rounded coping to parapets. Series of three segmental arches with drag edged tooled cut-limestone block-and-start voussoirs centred on drag edged tooled cut-limestone keystones. Sited spanning canalised Westport or Carrowbeg River.
A bridge representing an important component of the civil engineering heritage of Westport with the architectural value of the composition confirmed not only by the "sparrow pecked" sheer limestone dressings demonstrating good quality workmanship, but also by the elegant "sweep" of the arches making a pleasing visual statement at a crossing over the canalised Westport or Carrowbeg River.
