Detached three-bay single-storey former gate lodge, c.1830, subsequently in use as a house though currently unoccupied. Smooth rendered walls. Timber and iron casement windows. Replacement timber door. Hipped pantile roof with wide eaves and central chimney stack. Single-storey twentieth-century extension to rere. Channelled ashlar gate piers with cast-iron gates and railings, immediately to north.
A fine group of structures, formerly the principal entrance to Canonbrook House nearby as shown by the carved name to the gate piers. Handsome gate lodge retaining its original proportions, and a well-executed entrance screen of piers, gates and railings.
