Detached double-height former pump house, c.1830, of two gable-fronted ranges, each with symmetrical tripartite arrangement to river front. Random coursed limestone walls with brick dressings to window openings of various profiles, some blind, two with timber sash windows. Stone block and start doorway dressings and platband to river front. Pair of blocked arches to former rere elevation. Replacement corrugated roof. Now in use as an ink workshop.
A handsome building of unusual profile, which retains its original massing and balanced articulation to the river front. The two blocked arches on the south-western façade are a reminder of the building's original role as a pump house for the mill.
