Detached three-bay, two-storey house, c.1830. Double pile with natural slate roof. Timber sliding sash windows. Extended to rear. Former entrance with wrought-iron gates leading to rubble arched bridge over river.
Riversdale House was occupied by W.B. Yeats in 1932, and he raised money to improve it on American lecture tours. The entire complex is of great significance because of its literary historical association with one of the country's finest writers. The gates and entrance bridge provide an unusual character and pleasing setting to this complex.
