Detached three- or four-bay single-storey thatched house, extant 1837, on a rectangular plan originally two- or three-bay single-storey. Refenestrated, ----. Pitched thatch roof with paired exposed hazel or sally stretchers to ridge having exposed scallops, concrete coping to gables including concrete coping to gable (west) with rendered chimney stack to apex, and paired exposed hazel or sally stretchers to eaves having exposed scallops. Roughcast battered walls on rendered plinth. Square-headed off-central door opening with concealed dressings framing replacement glazed timber panelled door. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills, and concealed dressings framing replacement timber casement windows. Set perpendicular to road.
A house identified as an integral component of the vernacular heritage of County Kildare by such attributes as the alignment perpendicular to the road; the compact rectilinear plan form; the construction in unrefined local fieldstone displaying a feint battered silhouette; the disproportionate bias of solid to void in the massing; and the high pitched roof showing a thatch finish.
