Private graveyard, established 1921, including cut-limestone Celtic High Cross-style monument, cut-stone marker, cut-limestone surrounds to burial plots having guilloche detailing, and sections of iron railings to enclosure on a square plan having iron double gates. Set back from road in grounds shared with Kilkenny Castle.
Appraisal
A picturesque, if subtle feature in an appealing setting enhancing the aesthetic quality of the grounds surrounding Kilkenny Castle. An elegant monument of artistic design distinction displaying high quality stone masonry records the associations with the Ormonde family while early iron railings further enliven the visual aesthetic of the site in the landscape.
