Terraced three-bay two-storey house with dormer attic, c.1825, with elliptical-headed carriageway to left ground floor. Extensively renovated, c.1875, with shopfront inserted to ground floor. Renovated, c.1925, with dormer attic added. Now disused to ground floor. Pitched slate roof (gabled, c.1925, to dormer attic windows) with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, and iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Painted rendered, ruled and lined walls. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills, moulded rendered surrounds, replacement one-over-one timber sash windows, c.1875, to first floor having decorative iron sill guards, and three-over-three timber sash windows to dormer attic. Timber shopfront, c.1875, to ground floor on a symmetrical plan with pilasters, fixed-pane timber display windows, timber panelled double doors having overlight, and fascia having dentilated moulded cornice. Elliptical-headed carriageway to left ground floor with timber boarded double doors having wicket gate. Interior with timber panelled reveals/shutters to window openings. Road fronted with concrete footpath to front.
An attractive modest-scale house retaining most of the original form and massing together with much of the historic fabric, thereby contributing significantly to the character of the streetscape. Although now disused the survival of a traditional Irish shopfront displaying good quality traditional craftsmanship significantly enhances the visual appeal of the street scene at street level.
