Three-arch rubble stone hump back road bridge over river, c.1775. Random rubble stone walls with cut-stone triangular cut-waters to piers, and squared rubble stone coping to parapets. Series of three round arches with cut-limestone block-and-start voussoirs having keystones, and rubble stone soffits having render over. Sited spanning River Blackwater with grass banks to river.
An attractive bridge representing an important element of the civil engineering heritage of Mullinavat with the elegantly-appointed arches presenting a pleasing feature on the River Blackwater. The traditional construction in unrefined locally-sourced rubble stone produces an appealing rustic quality enhancing the aesthetic value of the composition while cut-stone accents in the Classical manner display high quality stone masonry.
