Unpainted rendered walls over random rubble limestone construction. Square-headed window openings with no sills, concealed dressings including timber lintels, and fixed-pane timber windows. Square-headed door opening with concealed dressings, and fittings now missing. Set in own grounds on bank of Black Water River with traces of mill race to site.

Appraisal

Having supported the local agricultural economy since the early nineteenth century a middle-size mill building represents an important element of the industrial legacy of County Kilkenny. Despite having fallen into disrepair following decommissioning in the twentieth century the elementary composition attributes survive substantially intact together with much of the historic fabric, thereby maintaining some of the integrity of the site. Positioned overlooking the Black Water River the mill remains an appealing landmark enhancing the aesthetic value of the local landscape.
