Terraced two-bay two-storey house, built c. 1880. Pitched slate roof, crested clay ridge tiles, red brick corbelled chimneystack, profiled cast-iron gutter on moulded yellow brick corbelled eaves course. Red brick walling laid in Flemish bond, granite plinth. Square-headed window openings, granite sills, painted timber two-over-two sliding sash windows. Segmental-headed brick-arched door opening, painted timber pilasters on granite plinths with decorative console brackets supporting frieze, cornice and plain-glazed fanlight, painted timber door with four flat panels, granite step and threshold. House fronts directly onto street.
This modest red brick house forms part of an attractive terrace which runs along Bachelors Walk. This house, like its neighbours, is simple in its design, its façade enlivened by its segmental-headed entrance with decorative carved console brackets, as well as the sash windows. The retention of original materials, an example being its slate roof, is worthy of note. This house is integral to the terrace and makes a positive contribution to the streetscape.
