Enclosed yard to south-west, rendered carriage entrance with round-headed arch surmounted by gabled bellcote and wrought-iron gates. Single- and two-storey rubble masonry outbuildings, now converted to living accommodation. Crenellated rendered rubble masonry boundary walls. Guard's tower c. 1727, now derelict, to north-east corner. Rubble masonry gate piers and wrought-iron gates.
Built in 1727 by William Stannus, this building, with its unadorned façade and finely-balanced elegant classical proportions, is a handsome representative of architectural developments during the Georgian era. It retains a large amount of original and early fabric, including handsome boundary walls, corner tower and carriage arch. This is a significant point of architectural interest within the townscape, situated on a main approach road overlooking the seafront.
