Single-span railway-over-road limestone bridge, built c. 1880. Rock-face ashlar limestone piers, tooled ashlar moulded cornice to deck level, concrete block parapet walls c. 1970, squared-and-snecked curved wing wall to north-east and south-west, tooled ashlar chamfered coping. Set at angle with flat-arched steel bridge. Located north of Dunleer.
This bridge is representative of the spread of the railways in Ireland at the middle of the nineteenth century. The fine masonry work is typical of this period and enhances the quality of the structure.
