Appraisal

A handsome example of early-nineteenth-century house with many interesting architectural features such as the original timber sliding sash windows and the stained glass lights. The farm buildings are executed with attractive brick and stone surrounds that give them architectural interest. This house was built as a new home by the owners of the adjacent castle, which remains standing although in a ruinous state.
