Detached six-bay two-storey house, built c. 1800. Rectangular-plan, full-height box entrance bay addition to south elevation, extension to east. Pitched slate roof to main house, concrete ridge tiles, red brick corbelled chimneystacks, cast-iron gutter to painted smooth rendered continuous corbelled eaves course; flat asphalt roof to box bay. Painted roughcast-rendered walling, painted smooth rendered slightly projecting plinth, painted smooth rendered projecting channelled quoins. Square-headed window openings, painted smooth rendered reveals and soffits, painted stone sills; painted timber one-over-one timber sliding sash windows; tripartite sliding sash windows to ground floor. Square-headed door opening to east of entrance bay, painted smooth rendered surround, painted timber door with four raised panels, cast-iron door furniture, cast-iron boot scraper; segmental-headed carriage doorway opening to south elevation of east extension, painted timber vertically-sheeted double doors, wrought-iron latch handle giving access to outbuildings to north and east. Garden to south, bounded by wall surmounted by painted iron decorative railing, long driveway from road, entrance gates.
Dellin House is a finely proportioned country house set in beautiful surroundings. The original proportion and form has been maintained on its crisp exterior which is enhanced by the retention of sash windows and handsome panelled door with cast-iron door furniture. Dellin House though modest in its design is an architecturally significant structure which makes a positive addition to the built heritage of County Louth.
