Appraisal

Morganstown House is a fine example of nineteenth-century mid-sized rural architecture. The attached farmyard is an important survival, helping to preserve the original context of the site. Complete with cobblestone paving, such complexes are becoming an increasing rarity in the Irish landscape. Balanced proportions and early fabric make this an attractive and eye-catching feature of the surrounding area.
