Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c. 1880. Hipped roofed porch to south, conservatory to west, garage to north-east. Hipped slate roofs, clay ridge tiles, smooth rendered corbelled chimneystacks, uPVC gutters on overhanging eaves. Smooth rendered ruled-and-lined walling, rendered plinth and block-and-start quoins. Square-headed window openings, tooled limestone sills, painted timber one-over-one sliding sash windows, moulded rendered cornice on corbels to ground floor windows, square-headed window opening to west, round-headed central light, flanked by five-panel sidelights. Square-headed door opening, painted timber carved door surround, painted timber door with six raised-and-fielded panels, plain-glazed overlight, tooled limestone entrance steps. Situated in mature landscaped grounds with outbuildings, currently undergoing conversion to accommodation to west, avenue to south-east leading to road bounded by trees, random coursed piers and walling to entrance.
This elegant house apparently built to replace an earlier structure, with its simple well-proportioned design, is enhanced by its entrance porch which breaks the façade and enlivens it. The subtle decorative cornices over the windows are skillfully executed. The mature grounds surrounding the house including the tree-lined avenue further enhances the house which plays a positive role in the architectural heritage of the area.
