Detached nine-bay single-storey railway station, built 1885. Yellow brick façade with blue- and red-brick strings at cill and impost levels. Screen walls at each end. Designed by N.A. Mills. Double-pitched roof, natural slates, decorative ridge tiles and barge boards, brick chimney stacks. Yellow English bond brickwork to walls with blue and red brick strings. Granite cills, moulded blue brick hood mouldings over segment arches, two pane deal sash windows - mostly boarded-up, large former glazed screen on platform side now enclosed. Rubble stone platform retaining walls with ashlar kerbing.
