Detached eight-bay six-storey mill, built 1774, with single-bay central gabled breakfront having bellcote. Return to rear. Segmental-arched stone arch opening, formerly housing mill wheel, with blocked-up opening to rear. Square-headed window openings with stone surrounds and cast-iron diamond-paned windows. Square-headed door openings with stone surround. Date plaque to façade. Now derelict.
This imposing mill dominates the landscape in Millbrook and is impressive in its design and execution. The tracks of the mill wheel are seen in the lime scale deposits and are a visual reminder of the scale of the former wheel. This former mill forms part of a large industrial complex, which comprised of the smaller mill to the north and their associated buildings. The stone date plaque reads: 'This mill was built by John Henry AD 1774 40 miles from ye castle of Dublin'.
