Description

Pair of octagonal limestone gate piers, erected c.1816, with cast- and wrought-iron spear-headed railings set on moulded plinths. Piers with carved rosettes and fluted moulded caps. Railings enclose the semi-circular site in front of Saint Bride's Church and flank the entrance leading to the door.

Appraisal

The piers and railings of Saint Bride's Church are highly decorative and were fashioned by skilled craftsmen. They contribute to the church site as well as the streetscape of the Square.
