Detached multiple-bay two-storey former railway hotel, built c.1870, now in use as house and public house. Comprising of chamfered corner flanked by two- and three-bay two-storey blocks, with nine-bay single-storey block to the north. Three-bay two-storey addition to the south-west. Pitched slate roofs with red brick chimneystacks, ridge cresting and finials. Rendered walls with render quoins and terracotta corbel and decorative tile eaves course. Timber sash windows with render surrounds and stone sills. Render surrounds to door openings.
This former railway hotel occupies a notable corner site in the streetscape. The elaborate eaves course is an immediately notable feature of the building, and it retains decorative tiles and corbels. The building retains many well executed original features and materials, such as the slate roofs, ridge cresting and finials, timber sash windows and render architraves. This former railway hotel forms part of a group with the former station and warehouse to the north-east.
