Detached three-bay single-storey former gate lodge, built c.1820, now in use as a private house. Hipped slate roof with red brick chimneystacks. Rendered walls with limestone plinth and quoins. Window openings with carved limestone dressing. Limestone surround and side lights to front door. Extended to rear.
This former gate lodge, now known as "White Cottage", originally served Hilltown House, a large house which was to the east. It forms a group with the surviving related structures in the former demesne. The survival of several original features and materials, such as the masonry dressings, enhance the building.
