Appraisal

This fine example of regional bank building was designed by G. F. Beckett and C. A. Harrington. The form of the building and the materials used in its construction make a positive contribution to the streetscape. The building is an interesting architectural addition to the streetscape as it is representative of architectural design in the first half of the twentieth century. It is an interesting variation in the predominantly nineteenth-century streetscape of Athboy.
