Description

Detached five-bay single-storey national school, built c.1830, with gabled central porch and single-bay extension to the west. Now in use as health centre. Hipped slate roof. Ashlar limestone walls and quoins. Timber sash windows with ashlar block-and-start surrounds and sills. Replacement door with ashlar block-and-start surround. Modern extension to rear.

Appraisal

The modest form of this national school is articulated by the well executed ashlar limestone. The masonry is well finished and is clearly the work of skilled craftsmen. The survival of the slate roof and timber sash windows contribute to the architectural heritage significance of this national school.
