End-of-terrace seven-bay two-storey former hotel, built c.1850, now in use as guest house and public house. Pitched artificial slate roof with rendered chimneys. Rendered walls with render quoins. Timber panelled door with engaged Doric pilasters having fluted frieze and plain glass fanlight. Approached by limestone steps with cast-iron bootscraper. Integral carriage arch gives access to stone outbuildings to rear.
This building occupies a dominant position in the streetscape, due to its size and form. The plain façade of this former hotel is enhanced by the quoins and Doric doorcase. Many original internal features such as panelled doors and the staircase survive.
