Description

Pair of semi-detached six-bay two-storey former estate workers houses, built c.1780. The pair back on to a single-storey stable range. Hipped slate roof with ashlar limestone chimneystacks. Ashlar limestone walls with string courses. Timber sash windows with limestone sills.

Appraisal

This former pair of estate workers' houses forms part of an interesting group of Loughcrew demesne structures, with the Ionic portico, stables, church, graveyard and gate lodges. The building is of apparent architectural design and detailing, while the retention of many original features and materials, such as the slate roof, ashlar chimneystack and timber sash windows complements the form of this building.
