Description
Detached five-bay two-storey farmhouse, built c.1800, now derelict. Hipped thatched roof with rendered chimneystacks. Rendered mud walls. Timber sash windows with stone sills. Outbuildings to site.
Appraisal
This farmhouse is representative of the vernacular tradition in Ireland. The materials utilised in its construction, such as the thatch, mud walls, and timber sash windows are traditional materials. Thatched farmhouses of this scale are becoming increasingly rare.
