Single-arch rock-faced limestone road bridge over river, dated 1848, with ashlar string courses and copings. Date plaque with O.S. benchmark to north on the road elevation. Remains of earlier medieval bridge flanking to east and west.
The execution of the masonry of this road bridge is of particular interest. Clearly the work of skilled craftsmen, the variation in treatment of the stone work adds textural interest to the bridge. The ashlar string courses and parapets contrast with the rock-faced voussoirs and walls. The site is of archaeological interest, due to the remains of the earlier bridge which flank this later section. A benchmark-inscribed plaque reads: "INCHAMORE BRIDGE 1848".
