Cast-iron water pump, c.1880, with banded shaft, decorative moulding to neck and spout, fluted cap with finial and cow's tail handle. Foundry stamp to neck reads: 'P. Murray, Drogheda'. Cut limestone basin to front. Located to road side.
Located to the side of the road, this pump once played an important social and functional role in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, providing a communal water source. This pump exhibits artistic detailing in its design with the moulded neck and spout, fluted cap and foundry stamp enlivening this functional object.
