Cast-iron water pump, c.1880, comprising banded base with fluted neck, spear-headed finial and cow's tail handle. Now disused. Set in centre of village green.
Located in the centre of the village green, this water pump acts as a focal point for the historic fabric of the village. Water pumps played an important social and functional role in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries when a communal water supply was utilised. Now disused, the pump exhibits artistic quality through its detailing and decorative design.
