Single-arch masonry canal bridge, dated 1803, carrying the road into Shannon Harbour over the Grand Canal. Squared random rubble stone walls with dressed limestone voussoirs, string course, parapet wall and splayed abutments. Plaques to upstream and downstream elevations read: "GRIFFITH/BRIDGE/1803". Limestone towing path flanking canal under archway.
This bridge remains in excellent condition, a testament to local sensitivity to its historic quality. Spanning the Grand Canal, it leads to the village of Shannon Harbour. This section of the Grand Canal was opened in 1804, the year following the bridge's construction.
