Detached two-bay single-storey gate lodge, built c.1800, with a canted entrance bay to north-west. Hipped slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles and rendered chimneystack. Roughcast rendered walls with brick eaves course, limestone quoins and niches to canted entrance bay. Square-headed window openings with limestone sills. Square-headed door openings to either side of entrance bay.
This gate lodge was marks an entrance to the Glasshouse estate. Glasshouse no longer survives but is recorded to have been a fine country house. This gate lodge survives as a reminder of that estate. The unusual form of the lodge is architecturally appealing and is enhanced by the decorative detailing of the niches to the canted entrance bay.
