Tunnel, opened 1872. Part creeper- or ivy-covered portal walls with cut-limestone chamfered stringcourses supporting replacement concrete block parapets. Single horse shoe-profiled openings with margined rock faced limestone ashlar voussoirs. Sited spanning railway line.
A tunnel identified as an integral component of the later nineteenth-century civil engineering heritage of Enniscorthy on account of the connections with the extension of the Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford Railway (DWWR) line opened (1872) by the Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford Railway (DWWR) Company (cf. 15702905; 15703728).
