Four-arch hump back road bridge over river, extant 1840. Part creeper- or ivy-covered walls centred on triangular cutwaters to piers having pyramidal capping with schist soldier course coping to parapets. Series of four segmental arches with lichen-spotted voussoirs. Sited spanning River Bann with unkempt grass banks to river.
A bridge representing an important component of the eighteenth-century civil engineering heritage of the outskirts of Ferns [SMR WX015-038----] with the architectural value of the composition suggested not only by the construction in unrefined local fieldstone offset by rough cut dressings demonstrating good quality workmanship, but also by the elegant "sweep" of the arches making a pleasing visual statement at a crossing over the River Bann.
