Graveyard with collection of lichen-spotted markers, ob. 1740-1980. Closed, 1876. Set in unkempt grounds with benchmark-inscribed lichen-spotted cut-granite monolithic piers to perimeter supporting flat iron "farm gate".
A graveyard representing an important component of the ecclesiastical heritage of County Wexford [SMR WX024-045002-] with a collection of markers signed by Miles Brien (----) of Rathduff exemplifying the Irish Churchyard Sculpture tradition in County Wexford (Longfield 1974, 2). NOTE: Allegedly the burial place of Robert Shapland Carew (1752-1829); Anne Carew (née Pigott) (1758-1813); Frances Carew (1820-1 in infancy); and Anthony Cliffe Carew (1821 in infancy) of Castleboro House (cf. 15702510).
