Appraisal

A graveyard representing an important component of the ecclesiastical heritage of County Wexford [SMR WX032-005002-] with a collection of markers signed by Miles Brien (----) of Rathduff; and James Byrne (----) of Clone exemplifying the Irish Churchyard Sculpture tradition in County Wexford (Longfield 1974, 2): meanwhile, a recent marker (1998) commemorates 'members of the Hay family [of] Ballinkeele…among them JOHN HAY who served as an officer in the French Army & was a prominent leader during the '98 Rebellion' (cf. 15703757).
