Gate screen at the eastern entrance to the Grangecon demesne, constructed c.1840. The screen consists of a central carriage entrance flanked by pedestrian entrances all with decorative spearhead iron gates. The square piers are in granite and have reeded friezes, moulded cornices and plain blocking courses. The pedestrian gates are set between plain coped granite walls that extend from the piers. The carriage gates are now electrically operated. The gate screen is set directly onto the roadside.
A solid unpretentious and largely well preserved example of a mid 19th-century demesne gate screen.
