Description

Detached nine-bay two-storey coastguard station, built c.1870, now in use as a residential school. The coastguard station is finished in render with block and start dressings. To the north-west corner is a c.1970s glazed porch. To the south elevation there is a hipped roof c.1970s glazed sunroom. Window openings are flat-headed with mainly two over two timber sash frames. The hipped roof is finished with natural slate and uPVC rainwater goods. The coastguard station is slightly set back from the road behind a low rubble wall; it overlooks the sea.

Appraisal

This coastguard station has been successfully converted to residential use. It is in largely original condition with the exception of the addition of the porch and sun room.
