Description

Detached three-bay single-storey Catholic church, built 1826. The church has an ashlar granite front gable which is surmounted with a small bellcote; the remainder is finished in render with moulded quoins. It is "T"-plan with a small gabled sacristy to the rear. The front door is set within a double height "Y" tracery glazed screen with a Gothic-arched head. Windows are also Gothic-arched with "Y" tracery. The pitched roof is finished with natural slate with a decorative serrated clay ridge tile and it has a mixture of cast-iron and extruded aluminium rainwater goods. The interior is well preserved with a late 19th century altar and reredos. The church is surrounded by a graveyard.

Appraisal

A well preserved early 19th-century Catholic church which compliments its rural setting.
