Freestanding public fountain, erected 1875, comprising carved limestone plinth and capped pedestal with inset plaques and cast-iron lion head spouts having troughs below. Plaques record the names of those involved in providing Ballyvaghan with one of the earliest reliable public water supplies in the country. The fountain was erected by two Connemara stonemasons, the Coyne brothers, who were marooned in Ballyvaghan when their craft sank at Gleninagh pier.
