Terraced two-bay three-storey former house, built c. 1770, as a group of three with the adjoining buildings to the north and south. Refronted, c. 1880. Now in use as restaurant. Flat roof set behind brick parapet. Brick walls to upper floors. Timber sliding sash and replacement metal casement windows to upper floors. Shopfront, c. 1965. Retaining interior features.
Built as part of a terrace of three house, these buildings form part of an interesting group with the adjoining terrace on the west side of North Main Street and with the terrace on the east side of the street. The scale and form of these buildings make a positive contribution to the streetscape. Built on the site of the medieval city, many of these buildings contain archaeological fabric. The building is enhanced by the retention of notable features and materials, such as the timber sliding sash windows and interior fittings.
