Pair of semi-detached three-bay two-storey houses, built c. 1940, with full-height canted bay windows to end bays, and shared gablet to central bays. Pitched and hipped pantile roofs with roughcast rendered chimneystacks. Rendered walls to ground floor, with roughcast rendered walls to first floor. Replacement doors and casement windows with concrete sills. Roughcast rendered stepped boundary walls.
These houses form part of an interesting group with houses to the west, east and to the north-east in Sidney Park, which were built in the 1930s and 1940s. Architectural design and detail are apparent in the irregular form of the pair. These houses are representative of domestic architectural design and construction in the 1930s and 1940s in Ireland. NOTE: 11 Sidney Park was once the home of Monica Gallagher (d. 2005) and her son, the musician Rory Gallagher (1948-95), and was featured in documentary "Irish Tour '74" directed by Tony Palmer (b. 1941).
