Appraisal

This former pair of houses makes a notable and positive addition to the streetscape, due to the scale and form of the building. The building retains many interesting features and materials, such as the timber sash windows and slate roof. The full-width shopfront is a particularly notable feature of the building, as it was clearly executed by skilled craftsmen, and simple well executed shopfronts such as this are becoming increasingly rare.
