Terraced three-bay three-storey former house, built c. 1830, now in use as retail outlet. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystack and rendered parapet. Rendered walls with render eaves course. Timber sash windows to upper floors. Full-width timber shopfront, c. 1890, comprising of fixed timber windows and timber panelled doors with toplights, flanked by pilasters, having fascia, cornice and consoles above.
This building derives particular significance from it's survival as one of the few nineteenth-century houses on Cork's now much altered city quays. The scale and form of this former house make a notable and positive addition to the quayside, and it is part of an interesting group with the three-storey former houses to the east and west along the quay. The building retains many interesting features and materials, such as the timber sash windows, slate roof and timber panelled doors. The carved timber shopfront is a particularly notable feature as it was clearly executed by skilled craftsmen, and is a feature which is becoming increasingly rare in the urban landscape.
