Freestanding square-plan three-stage belfry, built 1867. Copper clad pyramidal roof with metal cross finial. Cut tooled limestone walls with moulded string courses between stages, and with buttresses to corners. Trefoil openings to lowest stage, lancet openings to middle stage and pointed arch openings to top, latter with timber louvers. Tower stands in graveyard associated with church.
Freestanding bell towers are unusual in Ireland, and this one is unusually finely built. It has similar detailing to the adjacent church which it serves. The quality of stone craft evident in the walls, buttresses and string courses considerably enhances the structure.
