Detached three-bay two-storey constabulary barrack, built c. 1830, having gabled porch to front (south) elevation and recent extensions to east elevation. Hipped artificial slate roof. Rendered walls and dressed limestone walls to porch. Square-headed opening having six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows and limestone sills.
This contabulary barrack retains its original form and massing, together with much of the original fabric, which enhances the character of the site. The porch is notable for its limestone construction, which is similar to the adjacent courthouse and former bridewell.
