Detached seven-bay four-storey former flour mill, built c.1800, now used as store. Recent extensions to rear (north-east). Replacement steel corrugated iron-roof. Rubble stone walls with roughcast render and remains of slate hanging. Slate hanging to south-east elevation. Square-headed window and loading bay openings to north-east elevation, now blocked. Square-headed doorway with replacement door (south-east). Various recent outbuildings to site.
This substantial building is of particular importance for its associations with nineteenth century industrial activity in the area. Although substantially altered to accommodate its present usage, the building retains much of its character and form, while the slate hanging is a particularly noteworthy feature. Several of the mill stone, once used to grind the grain and make flour, can be seen scattered around site.
