Description

Terraced two-bay two-storey with dormer attic house, built c.1810, having dormer windows to front (south-west). Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystack, eaves course and replacement aluminium rainwater goods. Felt-lined barrel roofs with hanging slate to side (north-west, south-east) elevations of dormer windows. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls. Square-headed window openings having replacement render sills and uPVC casement windows throughout. Round-headed door opening within moulded render surround, having limestone step and timber panelled door surmounted by spoked fanlight.

Appraisal

One of a pair of townhouses, which is an integral part of a historic terrace. Though traditional timber sash windows have been replaced, the pair nonetheless retains much of its character, seen particularly in the round-headed doorcases, slate roofs and barrel roofed dormers. Together with the pair of larger houses to the south-east, this group would benefit greatly from the simple reinstatement of timber sliding sash windows.
