Description

Terraced three-bay two-storey house, built c.1870. Now vacant. Pitched artificial slate roof with red-brick chimneystack, rendered eaves course and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roughcast render over rubble stone walls with render sill band to first floor of front (south-west) elevation. Exposed rubble stone wall to side (north) elevation. Square-headed window openings with render sills and raised render surrounds, having two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door openings to front elevation. Raised render surround, rendered stepped approach and replacement glazed timber door to central bay opening. Timber battened door to second entrance.

Appraisal

Unlike the majority of houses that form this terrace, this house retains its historic character. The timber sliding sash windows and simple render details are noteworthy features, as is the curiously low placed timber battened door.
