Terraced single-bay three-storey house, built c.1820, with timber shopfront to front (north). Formerly also in use as shop. Pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves, having rendered chimneystack and cast-iron and uPVC rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls with rendered wall to ground floor of front elevation behind shopfront. Camber-headed window openings with render sills and surrounds to front elevation, having uPVC casement windows. Timber shopfront comprising pilasters surmounted by architrave, fascia board and cornice. Square-headed window opening with fixed timber-framed multiple-pane display window over render sill and stall riser. Square-headed door opening having replacement timber panelled door and spoked fanlight.
Built as one of four similarly scaled houses, these interesting buildings display unusually narrow façades. The group occupies an important position in the commercial centre and greatly enhances the streetscape. Features such as the wide eaves and camber-headed openings add to its historic character, with the simple early shopfront, retaining its substantial multiple-pane display window and delightful overlight, being of particular interest.
